Kid-Proof Doorknobs Really Do Work

Happy Memorial Day everybody! We had a beautiful weekend to enjoy together in Pennsylvania. We went to Home Depot and Lowe's together. After that, mom and Dad took me for ice cream at Brewster's.

I took Angeline, my elephant, along with me. I had a vanilla ice cream cone. It was delicious, and I ate the WHOLE thing!

Mom had a butter pecan ice cream.  Dad had a cake batter flavored ice cream cone.

It was a really hot day so I had to eat mine really fast.

After I had my ice cream cone, I found some pine cones.

They didn't taste nearly as good as my ice cream.
I also saw a chipmunk.  I took Dad over to see the little fella too!

The next day we all worked in our yard together. It was hot outside! I went inside to get a drink of water, but because Mom and Dad put the kid-proof covers on the door knobs I couldn't get back out.

When Dad came looking for me, I had made this sign and was standing by the glass door to our deck.

I told Dad that this was the sign I hold up when I need help.  I told Mom and Dad that I was ready to do an episode of Man vs Wild.

Dad was impressed with my safety knowledge and good spelling.  Mom was relieved I hadn't chosen to dial 911.

See you guys next week!

School's Out!

School's out!  School's out!  Summer has officially started!

Yahooooo!!!  We had a carnival the last day of school.  It was a lot of fun.  There were all sorts of games to play and even an ice cream social!

Mom came to school to enjoy the carnival too!

Dad was at work, but when he came home we went to the Childrens Museum and I drove!

Just kidding.  I did make a couple of delicious sandwiches though.

And, I enjoyed making some very beautiful artwork.  I painted pictures and made a silk screen of Daisy!

Of course, a trip to the museum would not be complete without spending some time playing in the water with my favorite elephant shaped watering can - Ellie.

Along the way, I ate a whole grilled cheese sandwich for lunch except for the crusts.  I held Mom and Dad's hands and we had a good day exploring everything there was to explore at the museum.

See you guys next week!

Meet my friends "Cata" and "Stay Still"

Guess what I found!  That's right, a toad!

I named him "Stay Still" because he didn't hop around all that much.  My neighbor Elliott and I each found a toad that night.  His toad's was "Fast Hopper" because he was a fast hopper.  Go figure.

I'm not afraid to pick up toads, worms, and all sorts of bugs.  Here is my favorite bug to hold....a caterpillar

This little guy's name is "Cata" the caterpillar.  He has lots of legs and is kind of hairy.  I like to keep him in a little plastic container with a leaf.  Mom says that I can't open Cata's or Stay Still's containers in the house.  Sometimes Dad lets me sneak a peak out on the deck.

Every night we set all of my friends free in the yard.  After I'm done coloring I'll say goodbye and tell them that I'll see them tomorrow.

Maybe Mom and Dad can catch some fireflies tonight.  But first....it's jammie time!  Happy spring everyone! See you guys next week.

How about a big kiss on Mother's Day.

Pow!  Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Hope all you moms out there had a great Mother's Day too!

Dog Trainer, Flower Photographer, Lady Bug Detective, and Bird Watcher

Welcome to my art studio! Mom found a really neat way to display some of my drawings in my play room.

I even let Dad take some to work to decorate his office.  Dad wore a bracelet I made for him too! He said everyone at work really liked it.

I have decide that when I grow up I want to be a dog trainer, a flower photographer, a lady bug detective and a bird watcher.
Mom and Dad told me those are all great ideas, but I will still be their little girl.

This week Grandma and Grandpa (Mom's parents) came for a really nice visit.  Then over the weekend, Mom, Dad, and I watched the Kentucky Derby together.  I got out all of my horses that Grandma and Grandpa (Dad's parents) gave me and had my own derby after the race!

See you guys next week.
