Our Little Pumpkin.Blogspot.Com

Hi everybody! I just got back from church. It was kind of cool so Mom put some pants on under my dress. I was toasty warm. We had to sit in the "cry room" again. I get a little rambunctious these days.

The night before we went to K-Mart. I saw another little girl there. I chased her all around the fake Christmas tree display. She tried to play with me, but I was just interested in playing tag and she was it! Well, you won't believe who sat behind us at church. I know! I was soooo embarrassed. I sat there the whole time hoping that she didn't say anything. She didn't - mainly because she probably didn't know how to say "there is that crazy woman that chased me through the aisles of K-Mart yelling 'ma-ma-ma-ma'."

About halfway through Mass, Mom and Dad looked a little too comfortable - so it was time for a trip to the baby changing station. For the younger crowd this is not where your baby is changed into a well mannered, well groomed, financially independent adult. That changing station is called 4 years of high school, one junky car, college loans, and a lot of long distance bills. This one is for diapers. Now that I am a little older, diaper changes are a lot more confrontational. This morning I was feeling especially disagreeable. Mom and Dad looked like a scene from Nacho Libre trying to change me.

Lately I have been really getting into everything. Sooner or later, I will figure out how to climb over the baby barricades Mom and Dad have set up on the stairs. Mom tries to keep up with me during the day until Dad gets home - then it's two against one. But, I have got a lot of energy.

Here I am playing in Macyville!

You can press different appliances in the house and they make noise. I love lifting the toilet lid whenever Mom is on the phone.

Shake a leg. There still is a lot of fun to have.

There is at least a barrel full of monkeys left!

Halloween is just around the corner. We were supposed to dress up like the cast of Elmo this year. I was going to be Elmo, Mom was going to be Dorothy, and Dad was going to be Mr. Noodles' brother, Mr. Noodle. Wouldn't you know it, but they were all out of goldfish costumes and Mr. Noodle costumes. And, since I absolutely refuse to put anything on the old noggin - red fur is out for me. So, we decided to go for a simpler Halloween. Mom and Dad would act like they weren't tired and I would pretend to sleep.

Ever wonder where ourlittlepumpkin.blogspot.com came from?

Happy Halloween!

While we were sitting around wondering what to do this evening, Dad and I were acting like I was a rocketship. Watch me blast off into the stratosphere of our living room!

One last picture. Till next week.......

3......2.....1.........blastoff!

Primary Colors

Check out my picture! Mom bought me some crayons to color with while I am in my high chair. Can you tell what my drawing is? A tree? Nope. Mom, Dad and me? Nope. My house? Nope. It is a rorschach picture of a butterfly! Just kidding. In between trying to eat my crayons, I just scribbled on my paper. Those crayons were delicious!

Mom won't let me have them when I am not in my chair. I guess she is afraid that I might write on the walls. I would so totally do that too. It would be a lot of fun. Dad went on another trip this week. This time he went to Columbus, Indiana. I missed my opportunity to write on the kitchen walls while he was gone. Darn. Divide and conquer you know.

Mom and I had lots of fun drawing together. I seemed to like the the purple and green crayons the most. Here are some more pictures of my first pieces of art.

Drawing squiggly lines takes a lot of concentration.

This one needs just a little more blue.

Mom, Dad, and I went to church. Mom put me in a purple dress. Dad's mom's favorite color is purple. I like it too.

P.......U..... that diaper pail really stinks.

That's all for this week. I gotta take care of that thing.

What! I'm Replaced?

Replaced. There is a lot to love about Daisy. Now with the addition of Macy there is a lot more of Daisy to love. Macy thoroughly enjoys exploring the cause and effect relationship of our attempts to feed her and her attempt to launch the food as far across the kitchen as she can.

Daisy, naturally a team player, tries to help keep the kitchen looking clean by eating whatever plummets to Earth from Macy's high chair. Ever the statistician, Daisy paces off each throw to see how Macy's strength and accuracy are progressing. Aside from a few close calls from blobs of pudding landing on Daisy, it looks like Macy is doing well. Because Daisy can't tell us so, she shows us by the parabolic curve of her tummy - it was once flat.

Being tricky parents we introduced Rex, the food decoy, to our family. Macy and Daisy seem to have formed a food throwing alliance. Whenever Macy sees Daisy let the games begin. So, we put Rex on the table with the thought that maybe Macy would through a little food his way. Take a look at the Daisy's eyes in this picture. It was taken right after feeding Macy, and by extension feeding Daisy. She looks a little sleepy from all of the food that Macy feed her but Rex is as chipper and alert as ever. I don't think our plan worked. Oh well, at least I don't have to pick up the backyard after Rex. Sit boy. Good dog.

Dad had his birthday this past week. He is one old man.

Check out my brown pants. Mom got them for my Fall wardrobe.

Here are some more pictures of me.

This a picture of me when Mom and Dad took me to a new park.

Mom told me that these were Canadian geese. Dad said that they couldn't be Canadian because this was Indiana and they didn't talk with a Canadian accent - "honk - A, honk honk -A." Mom, Rex, and I agree that Dad should give it a rest.

Plaid Looks Good on Everyone

The most important news of the week came on Monday. I saw Dr. Havlik. He cleared me to have the surgery to close my palate. In fact, he told Mom and Dad that he will attempt to schedule it before the end of the year. Everyone is very happy about that, especially me. I really want to be able to say all of the letters and words.

I could grab this pumpkin and run before Mom and Dad know what hit them. Mom, Dad, Daisy, and I were out on our deck this morning after church. I really like my plaid dress. My white shirt has pink apples on the cuffs that match my dress. Dad wears a lot of plaid too. Dad says plaid is all part of his disguise. Mom laughs at that. She pointed out that all of Dad's friends wear plaid too. She said it must be look like a Gap employee convention when they arrest someone.

Now that I can walk, I don't sit quite as still in church as before. This morning we went straight to the cry room, or as I describe it the party room. I played with three other little girls and had lots of fun. Everyone likes my shoes but me.

Mom and Dad took lots of pictures of me in my dress because we were going to the park later so I had to change. But here are some of the pictures. I really wanted to grab that pumpkin, but Mom was watching me like a hawk. I'll get that thing yet.

Dad was gone earlier this week. He went to Norfolk, VA for the christening of the aircraft carrier George H. Bush. It is the last in the Nimitz Class of warships. Dad had to start work at 2:00 AM and it rained ten inches between 2:00 AM and 12:00 Noon with 50 MPH wind gusts and lightening. Dad spent the entire time outside. Good thing he brought his rain coat.

After church, we went to the park. This park is farther away than the other ones. But, it has paddle boats, and swings, and geese, and lots of other kids. This is Dad pushing me in the swing. There are lots of trees. I think that I was able to point to every last one of them while I was there.

I am a really big giggler when I get swinging. The leaves on the trees are starting to turn colors already. Mom and Dad pushed me in the swing for probably an hour. I really let out a war-hoop when Mom tried to pick me up from the swing. It was one of those yells that when other people hear it, they think "What are those two people doing to that poor baby!" I plan to continue to refine that scream until I can get my way - but don't tell Mom and Dad.

There was something else at the park. It was an alligator! I thought those only lived in the New York City sewer. I guess this one is a rare Midwestern alligator. Mom was so brave that she jumped right on top and took me with her.

Check this out! Look at its beady eyes.

It's almost as if they follow you no matter where you go.

Speaking of alligators I had a couple more pictures from my zoo trip to show you.

Watch out Mom, I think there might be something behind you.

Look at this ferocious grizzly bear!

Don't be scared. It's just me behind a wooden cut-out of a bear.

Hi Mr. Peacock!

You are number...... let' see here, two fingers on my right hand and one finger on my left hand. You're number 3!

Welcome to the Zoo!

Hi everybody! I am going to Riley Children's Hospital tomorrow to see Doctor Havlic. Mom and Dad have their fingers crossed. Keep me in your thoughts. If all goes well my surgery to close my palate will be scheduled. In the meantime check out some of my new pictures.

This is me wearing out Mom and Dad before they go to bed. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Mom are you trying to slow me down with Glow Worm? Not gonna work!

They caught me! Now how can you say "no" to a smile like this?

Check out how good of a walker I am!

And at the end, I do a little dance. Ta-da!

Mom and Dad took me to the zoo! I've got my eye on you Mr. Tiger. Can you say "meow", "meow-meow"?

By the way, I should mention that I broke Mom's streak of playing a starring role in "When Animals Attack". My pants were not eaten by a goat.

The zoo was soooo much fun that it wore me out. So, we all sat down by a fish pond and I took a nap on Mom.

Ever wonder what Daisy is up to while you're reading my blog and I'm at the zoo?

Wuff!
