On the Road Again

Hello all. Well, I am on the road again. Sorry for the short blog but I had to do a lot of packing. Mom, Dad, and I are going to Riley Children's Hospital in Indiannapolis this week. I have been having a difficult time with my tube feedings. After I found out that I have two hands - who knew? It's not like there is some sort of baby school you go to - I have been grabbing everything. This includes my NG tube, tape, toys, Mom's hair. I could go on and on. Did I mention that I have reflux? Yep, 3 months going on 30 years. My reflux may be an unfortunate side effect of having the NG tube for so long. It is really hard for me to tolerate my feedings and so, after a lot of tears and Mom and Dad trying everything but standing me on my head - soft spot you know - it is time to change things up a little.

I have a swallow study on Monday where they check out how I....... wait for it...... go figure, how I swallow. Then if I don't pass that, I will be admitted and a G-tube will be placed. I am not a medical professional, Mom's asleep so I can't ask her, and Dad is only typing my dictation so here goes. A NG tube is short for nasogastric. A G tube is short for gastrostomy tube. Basically, a semi-permanent tube will be placed in my stomach that Mom and Dad will feed me through. They say the procedure is relatively simple but will require a 72 hour in-patient stay.

I have all of my favorite toys packed up and a new outfit to wear. It says "peas and carrots" on the front. It has pictures of peas and carrots and is a lovely shade of green. Dad thinks I wear too much pink. I will try to meet as many new people as I can. Maybe I will get a few of their pictures too. I will see you all again in a week!

It's Macy Time!

is back!!!

Yep, and I wanna dance too!

Sorry for the delay. Mom and Dad took a week off blogging and focussed on sleeping for more than 45 minutes at a time. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa. Dad says I look different now that I am not being held by my grandparents. We have a lot of catching up to do. I was baptized. I met my cousin Megan for the first time. My cousin Liam had his first birthday party. Someone went home wearing a lamp shade on their head but I'll never tell.

My appointments at Riley Children's Hospital all went fine. I am growing well and am right on track.

Who is having more fun here? After I discovered that I have fingers I have been finding all sorts of new and interesting things to do. Fingers grabbing Mom's hair, fingers in my mouth, fingers to fluff my hair, fingers to pat Daisy with...the list could go on forever.

Grandma looks really happy. This is Grandma's favorite picture. (The pressure's off Mom and Dad and Aunt Robin and Uncle Ned - whatever that means)

Here I am with my Great Grandma Kuhlman. And, I am sleeping like a baby - go figure.

This is my Uncle Ned. He is lots of fun. Does this picture seem a little fuzzy? Is it better like this or this? Number 1 or Number 2? One or Two? Just kidding Doctor Rosen, Rosen, Rosen. I have used that one a thousand times but it never gets old.

This is me being Catholic. I thought that you were supposed to sleep in Church, but Mom said only Dad did that. Mom told me not to pee in the batismal font, so I was good.

This is me with Father Joe.

This is me with my parents and Godparents.

This is me with my grandparents and great grandma. I am in the pretty white gown.

This is me with Uncle Mike. I just told him a funny joke and he is trying not to laugh.

This is me with my cousin Megan. I learned lots of stuff from her. Okay everybody, huddle up, huddle up. You distract Grandma and I'll grab the candy.

Grandpa and I like to hang out together.

Aunt Robin and Grandpa are introducing Megan and me for the first time. I can't wait to play Barbie's with her. She is wearing the same perfume that I wear - Pampers.

This is me with Grandma. I went over to her house for the first time. We had fun. I played with Dad's toy bear.

This is a picture of Liam at his birthday party. He is 1 year old. Where does the time go you old coot. (Sorry, not you Grandpa)

He he he. That was a good one. I am three months old in this picture - hence the sign.

Wardrobe change! Still three months but with a new (diaper) look. Sorry Mom.

All Smiles

I thought I would start out this week's blog with a smile. It is a little crooked, but I am working on it. What am I smiling about? Well, I don't really know. I may be smiling at my mom. She is behind the camera. Or, I may be smiling about my grandma who is stage right, trying to get my attention. I may also be smiling because I just ate or had my pants changed. Or, maybe I am contemplating how long I am going to let this outfit last before requiring a trip to "wardrobe".

Or maybe I like the plaid chair that I am laying on. Dad, don't get any ideas for plaid pants. Retro isn't always cool. I think that I'm smiling because I am sharing my funny faces with you on my blog.

Who can have just one picture of a baby on a plaid chair? They are like cheese puffs, no one can stop with just one, but without getting those orange fingers.

Look at me! I'm doing the backstroke.

Work it. Work it. Love the camera. Now act shy and afraid.

Now run away!

Darn paparazzi! Leave me alone. Give me that camera lady! Where's my agent?

So, anybody here from out of town? Can you guess who this is? "Ryan, as the project manager it was your responsibility to keep the diaper pail empty. That is a uuuuuuge, uuuuuuuge responsibility. There is just no room for a full diaper pail in my organization. You failed. You're fired!" Ha ha ha ha....like my Donald Trump boardroom impression? What a good prop this high chair makes. Don't touch my boardroom chair Dad! Thank you, thank you. You're too kind. You guys are too much. I love working the big room.

Seriously, though...I've been working on some new material for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I played Mom and Dad's living room during baptism. I absolutely killed them and it wasn't even my best stuff.

It's the three amigos! Now you may have seen us in family pictures separately, but we will be coming to holiday gatherings soon. Separately, we are lots of fun. But together we are three times the diapers, pacifiers, and bottles.

In order of appearance, we have cousin Liam, cousin Megan and me!. Clap it up everybody, clap it up.

This Halloween I went dressed as an eggplant, wearing a pink sweater, and a pumpkin bib. Talk about a last minute costume. Mom and Dad should have just told everyone I was a baby for Pete sake. I bet I go as Nancy Drew next year. Very original.

Next week.......Baptism pictures!
