Merry Christmas, bok, bok. Nope sorry that's Easter

Ho ho ho......who are you? This year was my first Christmas. Mom is handing me to some nice older gentleman wearing a red suit. He has a big white beard and carries around a set of sleigh bells. I am not sure who he is but he seems familiar, almost like Grandpa, so I went with the flow. Mom and Dad told me afterwards that he was Santa Claus and that he brings toys to all of the good girls and boys. Luckily, I am just a baby. Which means I haven't had enough time to be naughty so good ol' Santa Claus almost blew out a sleigh runner bringing toys to my house. Mom told me the story of how Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem and that's where Jesus was born. Mom told me that three wisemen brought gifts too. I asked Mom why the three wise men didn't bring presents instead of Santa Claus. Mom told me that it was unlikely to find three wise men in our house let alone one, so I should stick with Santa and not ask questions.

Watch out, here I come Christmas! This was one of my Christmas outfits. It was a nice soft courdory (very "in" this season) with holly leaves. Check out my Mary Janes! Just between you and me they aren't really shoes. They are socks! Can you believe that? I know, they look so real. Grandpa is helping me along. It looks like someone better hope they got photography lessons for Christmas and maybe next year we'll get both our heads in the picture.

Here are Grandma and Grandpa with Megan and me in front of the Christmas tree. Santa brought lots of presents to us. Megan showed me how to unwrap them, maybe next year I will be able to unwrap as well. Grandma and Grandpa are smiling because they know Santa will be coming too. I wondering if Mom and Dad got them any presents. Last year, Grandma and Grandpa found out about me, so that was their big present. Then Mom and Dad put a ribbon on me for Grandpa's birthday. I have a feeling that Mom and Dad might have procrasinated doing their shopping and I might be this Christmas' "gift" too. Re-gifting is so tacky. I am sooo embarassed.

I think I had a little too much Christmas cheer and the munchies took over. Surprisingly I didn't end up with a green mouth from the ribbon, but after the great Christmas I had I wouldn't have minded that a bit. Besides doesn't everyone always say that unwrapping the presents is the best part. I just figured that that if it is the best part why wouldn't it also taste the best? Hey, what do you expect, I'm a baby.

Here I am with Dad's mom. Grandma came over and spent the day with Mom and me. We had lots of fun together. We played with toys, and I slept a little, and then we played with toys some more, and I slept a little.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....... there was me in my exer-saucer. Santa brought this for Christmas. I like it a lot. This thing might not be a space ship but it sure is fun. I play in it every day. I am starting to figure out what all of the do-dads and do-hickeys do.

The best thing about this thing is that I can spin around and play with a whole new set of toys behind me when I get bored with the ones in front of me.
Dad said that it was the "Rubix Cube" of toys to assemble, whatever that means. Mom covered my ears so I didn't hear what else he said about it. I think he was excited because he was waving his arms like I do and then his mouth would move.

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Mom and Dad would like to thank both sets of Grandparents for all of their help not only during the holidays but from the very beginning. We are grateful for all of the subtle suggestions and gentle advice that have helped everyone breathe a little easier or sleep just five more minutes a day. I would like to thank Santa for all of the very nice gifts too.

Who wants to sit on Santa's Lap?

Hi everyone! It is almost Christmas and I have a lot of new things to share. First of all Mom and Dad said they are sorry but they won't be sending out Christmas cards this year. Mom, Dad, and me wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope you all are able to visit with family and friends and enjoy a fun and safe holiday season.

I am doing very well after my surgery. I cannot tell you all what a relief it is not to have that tube down my nose anymore. I am in such a better mood. I can put my hands in my mouth, and eating is no longer such an ordeal. Now that I can put my hands in my mouth I have discovered that I have ten fingers. And, I found out that I have ten toes - just last night. I am also working on eating cereal like a big girl. I am not sure if Mom wants me to wear it or eat it. She smiles whether she is putting it in my mouth or I am putting it on my sleeper. So, I guess it's a personal preference.

I am really excited for Santa to visit this year. I don't know how he is supposed to get here. Mom and Dad said it would all make sense when they read me Twas the Night Before Christmas. I think I have a leg up on most kids when it comes to being naughty or nice. Mom hasn't taken her eyes off of me since I got here so I really haven't had too much of a chance to make Santa's list. I think that I am going to leave some milk and cookies out for Santa - you know sweeten the deal a little.

This is me at four months. I am really growing. Diapers, outfits, you name it. Everything fits one day and the next - well...not so much. I am a good smiler. I really like smiling at my family. Mom and Dad like to kiss my cheeks. They make me laugh, those big softies.

Here I am walking with a little help from Mom. Mom is wearing the gray slippers just to clarify who is who. I am the baby. I like walking around. Even when I am feeling a little grumpy it is fun to take a quick walk around the house. If I play my cards right, I will be rolling over soon. And, before you know it crawling like Megan and walking like Liam.

I really like wearing my blue jeans. I want to put things in my pockets, but I haven't quite figured out how to work the buttons. Usually, I wear my "Mary Jane" socks that my Great Aunt Janet gave me.

I am four months old in this picture too. I think that I might just keep my blue eyes. They are a little darker than Mom's, but they are definitely blue. My hair is kind of growing but not real fast. I think that I may be stuck with what I have for a little while.

Best of all, I am growing in and out of tons of outfits. I think when I am older I might really like playing dress up.

This is me. Mom has been reading those Baby Einstein Books to me. One book talks about dogs and famous painters and paintings. This is my impression of a Salvador Dali painting. Those Baby Einstein books really work. Check out the big brain on me.

Mom and Dad found this outfit Christmas shopping. Mom likes peas. Dad likes carrots. They both love me. Dad likes it because it's green and not pink. Mom likes it because she is a Dietitian.

By the way, this wasn't my best side. But, check out what I am holding. Yep that's right, a toy. Finally, just one more picture. This is me playing.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. I will be back right after Christmas to tell you all about meeting Santa Claus

Back from Riley Hospital for Children

After spending five days in Indianapolis at Riley Hospital for Children I am finally home. Everything went very well. I now have a G tube that Mom and Dad feed me through. The best part about that is I don't have any more tape on my face! I can put my fingers in my mouth and don't have to worry about pulling out that old NG tube. I am much happier now.

My tummy still hurts a little bit so I try not to lay on my stomach just yet. But all in all I am glad to be home. Check out this picture from the hospital.

This is a picture of my glow worm and my glow toe. My glow worm keeps me company until I fall asleep at night. My glow toe tells me how oxygenated I am. I don't know how it works but it is a built in night light.

This is a picture of Mom feeding me cereal for the first time. My doctor says that I should just get a taste of food so I don't forget that it is supposed to go in my mouth. Since I shouldn't have thin liquids by mouth I get cereal.

I was hoping for Fruity Pebbles or Lucky Charms. This stuff tastes like cardboard. I have heard that is good for your complexion. If Mom is a little less stingy next time, I will try and spread it around my face.

This is me modeling my first gown. It is a lovely peach chiffon knee length. My butt hangs out the back and I am wondering if this is how evening wear should look. It was free from the hospital. Never buy retail.

This is it for this week. Sorry. Mom and Dad have a lot of unpacking yet to do. And, I have almost screamed all of the hair off the both of them.

On the Road Again

Hello all. Well, I am on the road again. Sorry for the short blog but I had to do a lot of packing. Mom, Dad, and I are going to Riley Children's Hospital in Indiannapolis this week. I have been having a difficult time with my tube feedings. After I found out that I have two hands - who knew? It's not like there is some sort of baby school you go to - I have been grabbing everything. This includes my NG tube, tape, toys, Mom's hair. I could go on and on. Did I mention that I have reflux? Yep, 3 months going on 30 years. My reflux may be an unfortunate side effect of having the NG tube for so long. It is really hard for me to tolerate my feedings and so, after a lot of tears and Mom and Dad trying everything but standing me on my head - soft spot you know - it is time to change things up a little.

I have a swallow study on Monday where they check out how I....... wait for it...... go figure, how I swallow. Then if I don't pass that, I will be admitted and a G-tube will be placed. I am not a medical professional, Mom's asleep so I can't ask her, and Dad is only typing my dictation so here goes. A NG tube is short for nasogastric. A G tube is short for gastrostomy tube. Basically, a semi-permanent tube will be placed in my stomach that Mom and Dad will feed me through. They say the procedure is relatively simple but will require a 72 hour in-patient stay.

I have all of my favorite toys packed up and a new outfit to wear. It says "peas and carrots" on the front. It has pictures of peas and carrots and is a lovely shade of green. Dad thinks I wear too much pink. I will try to meet as many new people as I can. Maybe I will get a few of their pictures too. I will see you all again in a week!

It's Macy Time!

is back!!!

Yep, and I wanna dance too!

Sorry for the delay. Mom and Dad took a week off blogging and focussed on sleeping for more than 45 minutes at a time. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa. Dad says I look different now that I am not being held by my grandparents. We have a lot of catching up to do. I was baptized. I met my cousin Megan for the first time. My cousin Liam had his first birthday party. Someone went home wearing a lamp shade on their head but I'll never tell.

My appointments at Riley Children's Hospital all went fine. I am growing well and am right on track.

Who is having more fun here? After I discovered that I have fingers I have been finding all sorts of new and interesting things to do. Fingers grabbing Mom's hair, fingers in my mouth, fingers to fluff my hair, fingers to pat Daisy with...the list could go on forever.

Grandma looks really happy. This is Grandma's favorite picture. (The pressure's off Mom and Dad and Aunt Robin and Uncle Ned - whatever that means)

Here I am with my Great Grandma Kuhlman. And, I am sleeping like a baby - go figure.

This is my Uncle Ned. He is lots of fun. Does this picture seem a little fuzzy? Is it better like this or this? Number 1 or Number 2? One or Two? Just kidding Doctor Rosen, Rosen, Rosen. I have used that one a thousand times but it never gets old.

This is me being Catholic. I thought that you were supposed to sleep in Church, but Mom said only Dad did that. Mom told me not to pee in the batismal font, so I was good.

This is me with Father Joe.

This is me with my parents and Godparents.

This is me with my grandparents and great grandma. I am in the pretty white gown.

This is me with Uncle Mike. I just told him a funny joke and he is trying not to laugh.

This is me with my cousin Megan. I learned lots of stuff from her. Okay everybody, huddle up, huddle up. You distract Grandma and I'll grab the candy.

Grandpa and I like to hang out together.

Aunt Robin and Grandpa are introducing Megan and me for the first time. I can't wait to play Barbie's with her. She is wearing the same perfume that I wear - Pampers.

This is me with Grandma. I went over to her house for the first time. We had fun. I played with Dad's toy bear.

This is a picture of Liam at his birthday party. He is 1 year old. Where does the time go you old coot. (Sorry, not you Grandpa)

He he he. That was a good one. I am three months old in this picture - hence the sign.

Wardrobe change! Still three months but with a new (diaper) look. Sorry Mom.

All Smiles

I thought I would start out this week's blog with a smile. It is a little crooked, but I am working on it. What am I smiling about? Well, I don't really know. I may be smiling at my mom. She is behind the camera. Or, I may be smiling about my grandma who is stage right, trying to get my attention. I may also be smiling because I just ate or had my pants changed. Or, maybe I am contemplating how long I am going to let this outfit last before requiring a trip to "wardrobe".

Or maybe I like the plaid chair that I am laying on. Dad, don't get any ideas for plaid pants. Retro isn't always cool. I think that I'm smiling because I am sharing my funny faces with you on my blog.

Who can have just one picture of a baby on a plaid chair? They are like cheese puffs, no one can stop with just one, but without getting those orange fingers.

Look at me! I'm doing the backstroke.

Work it. Work it. Love the camera. Now act shy and afraid.

Now run away!

Darn paparazzi! Leave me alone. Give me that camera lady! Where's my agent?

So, anybody here from out of town? Can you guess who this is? "Ryan, as the project manager it was your responsibility to keep the diaper pail empty. That is a uuuuuuge, uuuuuuuge responsibility. There is just no room for a full diaper pail in my organization. You failed. You're fired!" Ha ha ha ha....like my Donald Trump boardroom impression? What a good prop this high chair makes. Don't touch my boardroom chair Dad! Thank you, thank you. You're too kind. You guys are too much. I love working the big room.

Seriously, though...I've been working on some new material for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I played Mom and Dad's living room during baptism. I absolutely killed them and it wasn't even my best stuff.

It's the three amigos! Now you may have seen us in family pictures separately, but we will be coming to holiday gatherings soon. Separately, we are lots of fun. But together we are three times the diapers, pacifiers, and bottles.

In order of appearance, we have cousin Liam, cousin Megan and me!. Clap it up everybody, clap it up.

This Halloween I went dressed as an eggplant, wearing a pink sweater, and a pumpkin bib. Talk about a last minute costume. Mom and Dad should have just told everyone I was a baby for Pete sake. I bet I go as Nancy Drew next year. Very original.

Next week.......Baptism pictures!

Picture Pages, Picture Pages

Check out Mom and me! I look small in this picture but this week I weigh 10 lbs and 3 ounces. If the camera adds ten pounds that would mean I weigh.......umm.....ahhhh.....I understood there would be no math being a baby. I would try to use my fingers and toes to count but I can't seem to find them. My cousin Liam's nickname is "Toes". Maybe he'll let me borrow some of his. I am wearing one of Dad's favorite outfits. It is yellow and soft with a baby girafee and a mommy giraffe. Mom and Dad took this picture early in the morning. I am usually up and about around 6:00 AM. I like to swing in my swing for a little bit before breakfast.

This is a picture of me sleeping in my Pack-n-Play. I really like to nap there. I am really close to all of my toys. Most of them make funny noises or have pretty lights. Usually I create a nice big pond of drool for me to swim in.

This picture is a picture of my dog, Daisy, sleeping on the couch. She and I get along just fine. She watches out for me. Usually, she checks on me when I'm in my Pack-n-Play or swing. Sometimes she stands on her back legs to peek in my Pack-n-Play and other times she climbs up a couple of stairs to watch over me.

Daisy helps me out with "pants changes". Sometimes Mom and Dad are a little slow on the pick-up that I need a new diaper.

Daisy is always on her "A" game when it comes to sniffing things.

What? What? It's the formula! I'm just a baby, of course my pants stink. Jeez, can a girl get some respect around here?

Did you notice any pictures that are missing? You should. There are no pictures of Mom and Dad sleeping. That's because they don't sleep. I'm such a little stinker.

Who wants to see my lunch? Dad obviously does. I really like being lifted up high, but after lunch - not so much. If I knew what people were saying, I probably would have heard something like this....

Mom: Ryan, we just fed her you probably want to take it easy lifting her up like that.

Dad: Don't worry about it. Look at her face. She's enjoying it.

Macy: Uhh, I don't feel so good

Dad: Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy

Macy: [Ralph]

Dad: Jilllllll

Mom: I told you so.

Meet my friend. Her name is Eggie Baby. My Mom had two Eggie Babies. I have almost as much hair as she does.

Check out my sweater and hat. I really like them. They keep me nice and warm.

Until next time....blog, bla-blog, blog, blog.
