Cheesey!

Hi there everybody! This is me in my Dad's favorite outfit. This outfit has quite a history behind it. This is the second one of the exact same outfit. The first one was a size smaller. Whenever Mom and Dad put it on me, I always managed to destroy it before any pictures were taken.

I don't know if it is the color or what, but either I spit up on it or I have a little bit of leakage downstairs. Clean up on Aisle 2 please!

So tonight, Mom and Dad gave me a bath and right afterward started taking pictures. I tried my hardest to retire this outfit for the evening, but was unsuccessful.

Dad says my favorite animals are girafes. Although, I don't know what a girafe looks like I will take his word that these square looking things are pretty good likenesses.

I had a big couple of days at Riley Children's Hospital. On Friday, my feeding tube was replaced with a Mic "Key" button. This button is made by Kimberly-Clark. A picture of the one I have is on the right. Basically, the button is inserted in where my feeding tube used to be. The button has a balloon that is filled with about 5 cc of water that holds it in place.

My feeding tube then connects to the button and locks in place. This makes it much easier to lay on my tummy and scoot around, because it is flatter than my old feeding tube.

The button is also a lot easier on Mom and Dad because I have gotten so handsy lately. Changing diapers, taking a bath, changing clothes are all a lot less stressful.

But that's not all I did at Riley Children's Hospital. I ate some solid food and drank from a cup. Sarah, the Speech Pathologist, helped show Mom and Dad how to teach me to drink form a cup. I will not be able to drink from a bottle after my palate surgery so I have to start practicing now. Mom also fed me some green beans. She spooned in a couple bites and used a medicine dropper for a couple more. Bleeech.

The best part though was when I ate some Cheetos! That's right, my Mom, the dietitian, fed her little girl Natural White Cheddar Cheetos! I would have included my Dad in this incredulous statement, but does that really surprise anyone that a Dad might try to feed their child a couple of Cheetos when no one was watching?

The idea behind Cheetos is that it helps teach me how to eat solid foods. Sarah told Mom and Dad that I had perfect oral motor skills after watching me crunch a couple Cheetos.

Mom breaks up little pieces and puts them along the sides of my mouth. I then either let them melt away or spit them out everywhere. Dad put a Cheeto in my hand which I promptly gnawed down to my fingers.

Mom and Dad actually got a little misty eyed watching me eat solid food for the first time. Who would have thought that Cheetos would be so exciting? A nice side effect is that after eating a couple Cheetos, my cheeks taste all cheddary.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this plan includes Twinkees and beer somewhere down the road.

This is me with Grandma, Aunt Maresa, and Uncle Mike. Uncle Mike is holding a cow shaped teether that Gandma and Grandpa gave me. I also got a really neat set of plastic rings to play with.

I am looking at this cow and can't help but think that it doesn't ressemble the cows in my books. For one thing, I don't think cows are supposed to have plastic multi-colored flippers.

I had a lot of fun playing with Uncle Mike, Aunt Maresa, and Grandma. I am wearing an outfit that one of Mom's friends, Jennifer, gave me. It is soft and warm. I especially like the scallops along the edge of the hold. Mom and Jennifer used to work together.

This is me with Grandpa. Grandpa sure looks like someone that I met before. Say "ho, ho, ho" for me. Maybe jingle some sleigh bells. I know that I know him from somewhere, but I just can't place him.

I like to pull on Grandpa's beard. I bet it keeps his face nice and warm. I want a beard too but Mom and Dad said no.

I really grew a lot since the last time I saw Grandpa. I weight 16 pounds 10 ounces and am over 25 inches long. I had my head measured again. Aparently, I am right on track for the age-appropriate noodle size.

I can't figure out why the measure my head so much. I wonder if they think that it grows proportionally to the amount of new things that I learn everyday or what.

Grandpa and I are having a staring contest. I'm winning.

This is me with Grandma and Grandpa. It looks like we are really having a very intellectual discussion, but we're not. I have no idea what Grandma is saying. I'm just faking it. The only words that I know are "rah, rah, rah" which work great at sporting events, but not so well at more formal occasions.

Did I mention that I was the loudest kid in the hospital waiting rooms two trips in a row? Mom and Dad are so proud.

Dad wanted me to let you know that if you read last weeks blog neither your eyesight is going bad nor is your computer. The pictures look fuzzy because he used a different software application to edit them. He used Open Office which is free (yeah). It looks very similar to Microsoft Office, but doesn't quite work the same (booo)

But, just in case you are worried about your peepers, I know two optometrists that might be able to fit you in..........

Who Want's Some Sweet Potatoes?

Hi everybody! I'm 6 months old. You can't tell from this picture, but I have really grown. I'm 25 1/4 inches long and I weight 16.4 pounds. I'm growing by leaps and bounds. Mom and Dad picked out this dress for me.

It has hearts on it and it is pink. Since it's a sleeveless number, I have to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath. If my shirt looks wet, it's probably because I am drooling. Some people rub their hands together or have to use the bathroom when they get excited. I drool.

As you can see, Mom took the picture so that it looks like I am skipping through flowers. Isn't that just the sweetest, most girly thing you can think of?

This is the picture that Dad thinks represents me best. This picutre looks like I am jumping over the flowers or maybe, I am descending from getting shot out of a cannon over the flowers. Or maybe, I am competing in the Baby X-Games. I think Dad has other ideas about me throwing a tea party with my dolls.

I would like to point out that I am grabbing both of my feet. Also notice how I am keeping my gaze straight forward as I clear the flowers. And, look at the height! I am clearing them by a mile. I wonder if I will get extra points for style like the Olympic snowboarders or free-style skiers?

[By the way, for all of the adults reading this blog, no babies were shot from a cannon or performed any "free-style" tricks during this photo shoot. This picture was taken when Macy was lying, safely, on a blanket - Jill & Ryan]

In addition to my six month birthday, I have been busy rolling over, and over, and over, and over. I have also been talking a little bit. Mostly, I say rah, rah, rah, rah. But, I also giggle at least once a day. I am working on my volume. When Mom and Dad took me down to Riley Children's Hospital, I was the loudest kid there. I was really happy and wanted to share my good mood with everyone there.

So who wants some sweet potatoes? I definitely enjoy them. I managed to eat everything Mom spooned my way.

I had a really good time eating my sweet potatoes. I did manage to wear quite a bit on my face. Mom and Dad are really quick so I wasn't able to wipe my face with my hands and then wipe my hands on my outfit. Darn! There's always next time.

I like to hang out in my high chair. Dad usually rolls me around the kitchen. It is really comfortable. I even fell asleep in it. Mom and Dad are working on cereal with me. Dad tried a little bit of it and he cried too.

I am heading back to Riley Children's this Friday to get a "Mickey" button instead of my peg-tube. Since I'm getting a little more grabby every day this will be a big help for Mom and Dad. I am also going to see the plastic surgeon just to check on my progress.

Well, I'm tired. So, why don't we all take a little nap until next blog.

Comments Please! (Maybe?)

Dad thinks he fixed the comments part of the blog. So you are welcome to try again. I thought you would appreciate a behind the scenes look at my blog. As you can see my arms are just a little too short to reach the mouse and keyboard.

I still retain full editorial control of my blog, but I let Dad do the typing. See the silly look on his face? It's because we just found the end of the internet together.

I like to watch the screensaver. It is all pictures of me!

This week's blog will be a short one. I took another trip to Riley Children's Hospital. Not much to report there. I had a nap study, saw Pulmonary and Doctor Rescorla checked me out. In another couple of weeks, I will be getting a button instead of a tube. It will be lots easily for me to scoot on my tummy.

This is me with my Aunt Maresa, cousin Liam, and Uncle Mike.

This is me with Grandma and Liam. We are having fun together.

This is me with Grandma. We are reading together, but I'm faking it because I can't read.

This is me wit Grandpa and Dad. I am very interested in water these days. Dad is pouring water from the blue-green pitcher into the sink. I figure I will either be a hydro-engineer or a Sea World trainer when I grow up

This is me with Grandpa. As you can see, I can reach my feet.

I'll have many more adventures and new things to share next week. See you later.

No Comment Please

Hi everybody! This is me taking a nap with Mom on the couch. I woke up with sweater face afterward but man was it a good nap. Just thought I would let you know that, unfortunately, I have been unable to read any of the comments you may have posted to my blog.

When I found out the comments weren't working, I called the IT Help Desk (Dad) and had him research the problem. After many hours tracing cables, testing circuits, and reading source code I can now say that I have no idea why the comments don't work. I wish I could figure it out, but not even Google had the answer. I would offer Dad the opportunity to seek employment elsewhere, but there is potential for pancakes on Sunday and an extra $20 on date night so I'll keep him.

Can you hear me now?

How about now?

Mom, Dad, and both sets of Grandparents tried for two weeks to get me to talk into a cell phone and record a cute message for you. This is the best that we could do. Dad said, "getting a baby to talk into a cell phone is like trying to dribble a bowling ball." I don't know what they are talking about. I can't tell you how many times I was ready to jabber away but Mom and Dad fat-fingered the number or the phone wasn't charged, and on and on. Get it together people!

Who am I? Let me give you a hint. I starred in a movie with Harrison Ford in which my son witnessed a terrible crime while visiting Philadelphia. I also starred with Tom Cruise in a movie about being a Navy fighter pilot. Give up? I'm Kelli McGillis from the movie Witness!

I like this hat because it keeps my ears warm. It is really hard to find a good hat these days. Now most ladies will tell you that a hat is always a mistake. I, however, think it is the perfect accessory to any outfit. I am really looking forward to wearing my Kentucky Derby hat. No infield for me.

Mom has some really long arms. I think she is holding me and taking the picture. Not a bad job though. these types of portraits usually turn out pretty blurry.

These past two weeks have been really fun. I met some more members of my family. Who did I meet? Well, let me tell you.....

I met Mom's cousin Larry. He was really nice, although we did share an awkward moment together at first--

Larry: "Did she let one go? Don't react."
Macy: "Did he let one go? Don't react."
Larry: "What a cute baby!"
Macy: "'It's nice to meet you!"

Larry: "Yep, her pants are full"
Macy: "No doubt, that was him."

(That one was for you Mary Pat)

I also met Mom's cousins Lori and Julie. More laps to sit on, score! Julie is checking out the frogs on my feet. Sometimes they are staring right at me when I wake up.

This is me with Lori. Mom even combed my hair before she came over. My beauty secret for unruly hair. Mom just licks her hand and presto! It is nice and flat on my head. Amaaaazing.

And here is one with all three of us together. We played patty cake until the cows came home.

Guess who? That's right! It is me with Mom's cousin Kathleen. Mom still talks about the world famous soup Kathleen and Bob sent.

Kathleen has quite possibly the most effective baby soothing toy in the world in her hand. It is a little keyboard that has flashing lights and plays three different songs. Woe to Mom and Dad when the battery dies on that baby.

As usual, I'm wearing pink! Dad likes green, but Mom likes pink. So you can see who's in charge by counting the number of pictures I'm wearing pink in versus the number of pictures I'm wearing green in.

I love sitting on everyone's lap. There really isn't anything better. I was really happy to meet more of Mom's family. But I'm not done yet. I have one more person to meet. Any guesses?

Oh the suspense is just too much. This is me with Mom's Aunt Janet. Mom caught me off guard with this one so I am not looking the right way. But oh well. At least Aunt Janet is smiling.

Well, it is getting late so I will have to get going. I have lots more pictures to share. So stay tuned. But just to put the right "spin" on things I included one last picture. This is me practicing some of my break dancing moves.

Mom caught me right before I went into my back spin followed by a windmill.
