Is it really January?

Hi there everybody!  I've been having lots of fun the last couple of weeks.  So much so that I forgot to take a break and write a blog.

Last weekend we still had lots of snow.  Dad and I went sledding!  There were three sizes of sledding hills, a  small one, a medium one, and a really big one.  I told Dad that I wanted to go down the big one.  Mom recommended the more sensible small one.  Dad not having a lot of sense gave in and we went down the big one.

Oh boy......was that sled ride something else!  Dad decided that he would go down the big one with me after he saw how big the hill really was.  Down we went on my blue plastic sled.  It was awesome!

We were going so fast that about two thirds of the way down we went airborne and lost the sled.  Lucky for me, Dad is tougher than he is smart sometimes, so he was the sled for the rest of the way down.  At the bottom of the hill I was laughing begging to do it again.  Dad was covered in snow with a look of utter relief that somehow neither one of us were going to have to explain to Mom why we didn't listen.  Much to my dismay we stayed on the medium and small hills after that.

This weekend it is 60 degrees and the snow is almost all gone.  This morning I am working on homework with Mom and Dad.  I am wearing my pajamas sitting at my foldout desk practicing some addition and subtraction.  Mom and Dad are envious of my work attire.  Hopefully I can go outside after lunch today again.  Yesterday, I practiced piano with Dad and then the whole family went outside to play.  Mom, Dad and I went for a jog around the neighborhood, then we took Daisy for a long walk.

I am having a lot of fun playing with my new Christmas toys.  I have a great imagination.  Here are some pictures from Christmas at my house with Mom and Dad.  This is Perry, the talking parrot.

This was our Christmas tree.  I helped Mom and Dad decorate it.  Mom put the lights on.  I helped pick out the Christmas ornaments.

I was so happy that Santa came.  We opened our Christmas stockings ....

...and then the presents.

It was a great Christmas.  Even more special than all of the presents was that I was able to spend Christmas with my family.  Family is the best!!!

I hope you had a great week.  See you next week!

Oh Macy, What fun I had reading about your sledding adventures with your Dad. I laughed out loud just picturing the two of you losing the sled part way down the big hill. Isn't snow fun!
Your Christmas tree was really pretty and it looks like you got a lot of presents so you must have been a very good girl last year.
I hope you have a great week.
Love, Kathy
