This is what I got Mom for Mother's Day. I found it outside when I was trying to crawl under our deck. I know, I know it's a last minute gift and I shouldn't have. But, it's Mom so why not go all out one day out of the year.
Since it is Mother's Day, let me tell you about my mom. First of all, I love her. Mom and I have been inseperable for the past 29 months - nine of those she really didn't have a choice on whether or not she could pass me off on Dad. I miss those late night dinners at the Broadway Cafe. But, I digress.
I know Mom loves me too. When I wake up in the morning and from my naps,
she is always right there to scoop me out of my crib. She is the first person I see in the morning and after we read "Goodnight Moon" she is the last person I see at night. Mom has spent every hour that I have sat in my chair sitting right beside me; encouraging me to take my first real bite.
After my two surgeries, Mom held me from the time I left Recovery until I left the hospital to come home so I wouldn't be scared. Mom taught me to count to ten, although "four" sounds a lot like something the FCC wouldn't want you to read. My fault on that one. Mom says it right.
I point out birds, cars, flags, and airplanes to her. Mom never gets tired listening to my cd of "T
he Wipers on the Bus Go Back and Forth". Mom and I read together and she carries me to Communion every Sunday. Mom has given me life and she has filled my life and Dad's with everything that makes her special and wonderful. I am the bright, happy little girl that you see on this blog because of my Mom. Happy Mother's Day.
In honor of Mom, I made this collage of pictures to one of my favorite songs.
Stay tuned. Next week, I am going to tell you all about the book my Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Gene sent me. They even me the gentleman who trained the first chimpanzee in space. His name was Ham. No Dad, monkeys are different than chimps, than apes. How did Mom ever get so lucky?
