Hey there everybody! Summer is finally here and I'm having a great time. Sorry I haven't written in the past couple of weeks. I have lots of news and new adventures to share though.
Where to begin. Where to begin.
Well, first of all I'm a Second Grader!
This is a picture of me on my last day of 1st Grade.
I'm pretty excited about being a 2nd Grader.
There were also a couple of birthdays since my last blog.
Happy Birthday Mom!!!
Even Daisy wished her a happy birthday. Dad and I gave her a softball mitt so the whole family could play catch together in the backyard.
Guess who else had a birthday.....Uncle Ned!
It was fun celebrating his birthday together.
In other news, I played the piano at a picnic!
Every year my piano teachers host a picnic at the park.
I played the 12 Bar Blues and another song that I had been practicing.
I did a good job and it was really fun.
In gymnastics I learned all of the Level 2 skills and was advanced to Level 3.
My gymnastics class put on a show for all of our parents.
I have also been working on reading, science, and math with Mom and Dad even though school is out for the summer. I like to learn new things.
Here I am using my microscope to take a closer look at some of the bugs I collected.
Mom and Dad helped me look at the eye of a dragonfly. Then Mom and I researched interesting facts about dragonflies' excellent vision.
Dad is also teaching me about computer programming. I started learning about a computer programming language called Python. Here is my first computer program.
Dad says everyone who learns computer programming starts with "Hello World".
My cousin Megan, Uncle Ned, Grandma, and Grandpa came to visit. We went to an animal park and petting zoo called Living Treasures. It was awesome!
There were zebras.....
...and kangaroos .....
...and yaks ....
...and giraffes too!
We had a great time feeding the animals and learning new facts about them.
It has been a great couple of weeks. I played the final softball game for the season. As the second baseman, I caught two ground balls and threw them to first base in time to get the runners out! I've spent some time at the pool, helped with a neighborhood lemonade stand, had a sleepover at my BFF's house, and even went to a terrific bible camp at church! I am really looking forward to swimming lessons, which will start this week.
I hope everyone is enjoying summer as much as I am. Have a super duper week!

Hi Macy,
You have packed a lot of fun into the first couple of weeks of summer. I really liked hearing you play piano and do gymnastics. You must like softball and I'm sure your teammates are happy to have you at 2nd base!! I'm glad you had so much fun with your cousin Megan. I can't believe you are in Second grade - where did the years go??? Enjoy swim lessons and you have a totally awesome week.
Love, Kathy
