Surgery This Week!

I thought I might clear something up. Even though I wear a lot of pink and like to play with my dolls, I am still Daddy's girl - as you can tell from this picture. First of all, I am asleep on the couch. Whenever Dad goes missing, check the couch. I am kinda surprised that I was able to beat him to this spot.

Next, check out my tummy, otherwise known as BOP or belly over pants. Again this is a common look for Dad whenever Mom and I catch him snoozing. I would also like to point out that my pants are sagging a little so you can see my diaper. Mom recommends that Dad wear a belt at all times.

Not convinced that I'm Daddy's girl yet? No problem. I have some more evidence to present on my behalf. Ever wonder where Dad sneaks off to in the middle of the night. Sure, he will tell you that he is working on his graduate school homework. But I know differently. All you hear is the creaking of a door and then you see a glow of white light around him like a halo. Dad is not being contacted by extra-terrestrial beings. Nope, Dad is rummaging through the refrigerator.

Like Father like Daughter

Anything good to eat in here?

I also have my Dad's sense of humor.

I wonder if I can copy my head while nobody's looking?

Like the title mentioned, my surgery is this week. It was originally scheduled for December 21st, but there was a cancellation. So we stood on our heads and got ready to go to Riley Children's Hospital one more time. This time will be an important one. Basically, on Tuesday, I will have my palate closed. I will have to stay in the hospital overnight but Mom and Dad can take me home the next day. I will have to wear arm restraints for about three weeks to make sure that I don't undo my stitches. I will to go back to Riley for a couple of follow up appointments with Dr. Havlik.

After that, what happens next I can't really say. As long as the surgery is successful, I should start talking and learning how to eat. But, there really isn't a timeline for either of those things to occur. Once I can eat and drink on my own I can get rid of my feeding tube. But, I digress. Tuesday is a really big day for me. Mom and Dad are nervous. Hospitals, anesthesia, IV's are never fun even when you aren't the one getting them.

If you have a moment, keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I will need all of your help to make a speedy recovery. I am really on the go these days and I don't want anything to slow me down.

Lately, I learned how to spin around and around. I make myself so dizzy that I fall down in the middle of the floor. Check this out.

One last picture though. I may be Daddy's girl, but I love my Mommy!
